Nikon 85mm f/1.8D

I have a new lens as of yesterday. I bought this one to have more versatility in my portrait sessions. I haven’t played with it too much, but hopefully this weekend it will get to show off a little.

Mac Attack!

Who has a Mac? What do you have? What do you want? I’m looking, need recommendations and feedback!

I’m using a Windows based machine now for editing my photos, it’s a little frustrating at times. I have been thinking about getting a Mac for over a year, just can’t figure out which one would be best for me. I’m pretty sure I want a laptop vs. a desk machine. I really like the Mac Book Pro’s, but, I’ve also been thinking about a Mac Mini. I have hard drives and burners, I really just want to be able to open up Lightroom and Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro X2 and not have LAG and BOG. I wonder if it’s Lightroom though. I can edit photos in PSP just fine, then I open Lightroom and it’s a slow machine.

So, help me decide! Thanks!

Domke Bag

I really needed a medium sized bag, I decided to go with Domke after buying 2 Jill.e bags. I’m happy with Jill.e, but wanted something a little more rugged. I like how the compartments are set up on the Domke. I bought an olive green one and I also purchased a USPS shoulder pad. That makes all the difference in the world!

I recently purchased some great equipment bags on eBay. I found an excellent, reliable seller. Contact me if you want more information. Each bag is long enough to haul my light stands and I also bought a shorter one for my tripod and umbrellas. I have other bags that I bought from a different seller for my backdrops, last year.

Nikon D200 Part II

I now am a proud owner of a second Nikon D200! Best Buy had them on sale for such a great price, I couldn’t resist! I am using the new one as my main camera and my original is my backup camera. I sold my D40 last Fall to one of my senior photo clients. She’s been using it to the maximum and taking great photos with it.

I am happy to have made this purchase when I did as I’m sure they will be at the regular price until they are phased out totally. Maybe a D700 will be in my future, but not this year.

I purchased two Alien Bees B800 units (hot pink!) and two 13′ heavy duty light stands and two bags to carry the lights in. I already have the umbrellas and I also purchased an umbrella soft box as I really like how I don’t have to struggle getting it set up. I just push it and then it’s done. Paul C. Buff has great items, I highly recommend them!

This is my new portrait lens. I’ve been using the 50mm for 6 months and I will continue to use it when I can. I love this lens though, it’s a macro, so it gets closer when I need it!

Nikon D200

I just received a new camera! I bought this new Nikon to use as I launch my photography business in Southern Maryland. I’ve been using a Nikon camera for almost 10 years now and I have a Nikon D40 as my backup camera for the time being.

This is my new portrait lens. I like how it softens everything around the subject and I really like it on the D200 vs. the D40!
